PLATFORM TECHNOLOGY (PTAT) TO ENHANCE CELL COMPETENCE
PTAT: Pressure Triggered Activation of Tolerance
BETTER FOALS FROM BETTER GENETIC MATERIAL
PTAT preconditioning of stallion semen improves the effectiveness of cryopreservation by preserving viability and function of the spermatozoa. Accordingly, this pretreatment ensures better preservation of the genetic material and stabilize the quality of frozen semen.
INDUCING CHILLING TOLERANCE OF ZEBRAFISH EMBRYOS
PTAT preconditioning makes zebrafish embryos capable to survive chilled storage for 24 hours: the pretreated embryos hatch, and develop to maturity and produce healthy offspring, while all control untreated embryos died after chilling.
IMPROVED RECOVERY RATE OF HUMAN SPERM CRYOPRESERVATION
PTAT pretreatment enhances the recovery rate of motile human sperm cells after cryopreservation. This research is currently being conducted at the university hospital in Szeged .
ENHANCED QUALITY OF BOVINE EMBRYOS AFTER VITRIFICATION
After PTAT preconditioning the effectiveness of vitrification increases: both survival rate and in vitro developmental rate of bovine embryos improves. Due to these beneficiary effects the number of freezable embryos enhances.
INCREASED EFFECTIVENESS OF HUMAN CORD BLOOD CRYOPRESERVATION
After PTAT preconditioning, increased stem cell recovery rate was revealed, without adverse effects on DNA integrity. Our technology can be part of cord blood banks’ processes as a preconditioning step, in order to help them create more value for their customers.
INCREASED CRYO-TOLERANCE OF BULL SEMEN
Due to the PTAT pretreatment of bovine sperm the post-thaw motility, vitality and mitochondrial activity was increased. Our technology is not only effective in the lab. An extensive validation program was recently launched in the farms to prove its beneficial effect on the fertility index.
